Retro Shift Dress with Christine Haynes

Every woman needs a sweet and simple shift dress in her wardrobe, and it makes a great project for those of you who know how to sew but haven't tackled a clothing project yet. This dress is easy to wear and looks great paired with a little cardigan, layered over a tee, or all on its own. Please bring 3 yards of 45" wide light or medium weight cotton fabric, 1 1/2 yards of packaged or handmade 1/2" double-fold bias tape, and a copy of Chic & Simple Sewing (which contains the dress pattern). You may purchase the book (and fabric) at Home Ec. with a 15% student discount. Students must either have previously taken Sewing 101/Intro to Sewing or have basic knowledge of machine sewing, ironing, and construction. Your instructor is local designer Christine Haynes, author of Chic & Simple Sewing. Class happens on two consecutive Tuesdays, February 16 and 23 from 7-10pm.
