Learn to create your own fully customized hand-bound books with local artist Richenda Brim of Clementine Press. This class is perfect for beginners, or those who took Richenda's Bookbinding 101 class last year. In Bookbinding 102, you will learn to make a casebound hardcover book. You'll learn how to work with adhesives, sew on linen tapes, and make a cloth and paper cover. The classes will cover the structure and design elements of a handbound book. Students will take home one model, one complete bound book, notes, and tools to continue bookbinding at home. All papers/bookmaking materials and a cheat sheet are included. If you took Bookbinding 101 please bring your bone folder and paper awl. (If you need to purchase these tools, please bring an extra $5 to class.) Two-night class happens Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19 from 7-10pm.
