A-Line Skirt with Christine HaynesThe A-line skirt is a staple piece in any woman's wardrobe, and can be easily customized to suit your own personal tastes. This version has a sweet ruffle at the hem, which makes it extra special yet still totally versatile. You will learn skills in pattern reading, creating casings and inserting elastic, gathering and basting while you make your skirt. Please bring 2 yards of 45" wide light or medium weight cotton or linen fabric and a copy of Chic & Simple Sewing (which contains the skirt pattern). You may purchase the book (and fabric) at Home Ec. with a 15% student discount. Students must either have previously taken Sewing 101/Intro to Sewing or have basic knowledge of machine sewing, ironing, and construction. Your instructor is local designer Christine Haynes, author of Chic & Simple Sewing. Class happens on two consecutive Tuesdays, March 16 + 23 from 7-10pm.
